Week 58 - Land of Destitution

Within my district we have a joke that my companion and I serve in Sinfield. Because the field is white already to harvest and the field is ready to be burned.
The people here are not quite like anyone i have ever met. especially the strange array of members. We have those who were baptized when they were young and never came back to church. and there were those who were baptized because their spouse was a member and then they would get divorced and never come again. what a strange way of joining a church.

But anyhow. this week has been one of the most... trying weeks. We did not hit standard on anything. we had plenty of lessons we had taught but we didn't find anyone new to teach, no one let us in or allowed us to come back. we have been dropped all week by Investigators and we have dropped investigators that were not progressing anymore.
it has gotten really hard here. It seems as if this land has started to turn into a black hole of un-success. But this area has someone here that is ready for the message that we share... or we wouldn't be here.

We are fighting for success here where it seems that every corner there is none. Seeking out with faith when it seems that all faith has been spent. Walking for hours with not a single cloud in the sky to cover the burning rays of heat.

This quote is what helped me a lot

“No pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted. It ministers to our education, to the development of such qualities as patience, faith, fortitude and humility. All that we suffer and all that we endure, especially when we endure it patiently, builds up our characters, purifies our hearts, expands our souls, and makes us more tender and charitable, more worthy to be called the children of God … and it is through sorrow and suffering, toil and tribulation, that we gain the education that we come here to acquire and which will make us more like our Father and Mother in heaven.”

I love you and hope that all is well
