Well Transfers has come and gone, I will be transferred... a mile down the road... ha,ha I will be serving in Park Hill now. and I will still be serving in the office. I will be helping my mission president with some important things. I'm ready to light Park Hill on fire!!!

How To Study.
One important factor of this week in District Meeting they taught us about Studying and the Importance of study. So I decided that I would give my thoughts about Studying and How Studying should be like.
When studying for an individual or for ourselves there are three things we need to ask ourselves.
What do you want them to: Know, Feel, and then Do.
This is important to one's own growth. As missionaries, we teach the gospel to someone by giving them information that they can process. We want them to feel the spirit when we are speaking to them and when we are giving them the word and the spirit we want them to act on the feelings they are having. We are very successful at the first two. We can get people to know and feel things but getting someone to 'Do' something about their new knowledge is very difficult.
We wonder why is it so difficult for individuals to do something with the information that they have? I discovered recently that the reason for this is like thinking about something you do everyday. For example: I brush my teeth everyday, and then the missionaries come around with a great message; they want me to not only brush my teeth, but brush my teeth twice if not three times a day as well as floss and use mouthwash... Now if we think about this, it isn't a request that will harm us, but imagine going from only brushing your teeth once a day, to now being asked to brush your teeth, floss and use mouthwash. It is going to have to get use to it. You will have to not only get all of those things to be able to take care of your teeth but it will require steady dedication to keep doing it every day.
It is a difficult task for many people to take upon themselves when they are more comfortable with their habit. Now we ask, how do we get these people to Know, Feel, and then Do?
We start with having faith that these people will do something; then we have to fervently pray for the individual to know what they need and to know how to best teach them. When doing these things we should never act alone, that is why as missionaries we have companions, so that we may have many views on the situation we are working with. Someone that we work in unity with. We may not get along very well with one another but as long as our purpose and our hearts are in to the same desire of the same result we will see greater miracles. If we had perfect unity we would be like the God Head, who work in perfect unity toward the same purpose.
Now to speak of Study: If you have no purpose or interest in what you are going to read,. then studying for it will be impossible. When studying, have a desire to know something new; to want to know the information what you are about to learn. Why are you studying? What purpose do you have in going forward in the direction of study? Why is Study so Important?
When we are working with individuals we have a step by step way of what it takes for them to reach Eternal Happiness.
First we have to teach them to have faith
Second we need them to realize their mistakes and repent of all wrongdoing and have a sincere heart about it
Third after they have repented and have faith and belief they are ready and prepared to be baptized and take upon them the name of Christ and hold him dear to their hearts.
Fourth they receive the Holy Ghost, who will be a constant companion for them.
Fifth They have to endure to the end. If we do not teach them the correct principles of continuing forward with faith and enduring all of the difficulties that will come their way, they will fall off to the sides and stray from the path.
They then receive Exaltation and Eternal Happiness, once they have gone on and have lived honorable lives.
Now to think that we are the cause of such eternal happiness. Is it not something to rejoice about and celebrate? It is something we should strive to do every day.
Bring someone Closer to Christ
And when you are studying remember this scripture
Doctrine and Covenants 9: 7-9
7. Behold, you have not understood; you have supposed that I would give it unto you, when you took no thought save it was to ask me.
8. But, behold, I say unto you, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right.
9. But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget the thing which is wrong; therefore, you cannot write that which is sacred save it be given you from me.
